Online Third Party Services Information

Riva Primary School uses online third-party services to support our education programs and the operational requirements of the school. When selecting the services, we are mindful of our obligation to protect student’s personal information.

This includes the requirement that we:

Identify online third-party services which may hold students’ personal information;
Confirm that a risk assessment has been completed by the Department of Education for each third-party service provided, and that the risk report is available; and
Complete appropriate parent notification and/or consent collection before using an online third-party service with students’ personal information.

This web page is a supplement to that form, containing the details of all online third-party services which may be used at the school, if applicable a student’s classroom, learning program, year level or need.

The vast majority of services, apps and educational sites used in teaching and learning programs at Riva Primary School have been assessed by the Department of Education as requiring no consent. The final category of online third-party services which may be used at Riva Primary School are those which require parent/carer informed consent. These services have been assessed as being suitable for the educational and management needs of the school.

Please note that the full list of potential information which may be shared with the services is listed, however, the school will always endeavour to use the minimum required to achieve our goals, and, wherever possible, avoid the use altogether of student information to these services through using generic account names.
